    7.1 Le Fort de Schoenenbourg

    22–23 ago. 2024, Francia ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

Main goal for today: the Schoenenbourg Fort of the Maginot Line. Yesterday, I had asked how to get to the fort, and I was given confirmation of what I had researched. I had some doubts, because of some information I had found, but I thought I have come all the way from Canada, and I really wanted to see this fort. This morning, my navigating went a bit awry, but I got to the train station with about 10 minutes to spare. I got to Soultz-sous-forêts and asked the clerk at the station, where I could get bus #P37. He looked puzzled and said there aren't any busses but I could go to the tourism office to get info. I found my way there, only to find that it was through appointment only. I then saw a sign for the mayor's office, but it was also closed. Fortunately, a man (Marcel) was there too and he offered to give me a lift to the fort.Leer más
