Madness on arrival. So many boats waiting for the pontoon to dock and offload so that we could walk through to Maya bay. It is a national park so there is a 400baht entrance fee.

On arrival there were hoards of people so near impossible to get a photo of the beautiful bay and clear waters. No swimming or snorkelling allowed from the beach but this was allowed further out in the bay. It started to die down while we were there and everyone had cleared out by 5 pm.

We reloaded onto the boat and went out to the side where you could snorkel and that was pretty cool I must say. Lots of fish and even more fish when I picked up a watermelon scrap and started scratching it up into tiny pieces.

Went on to see the sunset then the luminescent plankton at night. Snorkelling in the dark is scary but the plankton were pretty damn cool! They were everywhere and when you moved your limbs they would glow!Read more
