• Day 7 - Monteverde —> Quepos

    9. januar, Costa Rica ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

It’s Day 7 of our Pura Vida adventure (well 8 if you count our travel day), and we now have what we didn’t know we were missing …

    …. Mike’s travel hat! 🎩

In Tuk Tuks, Tea and Turquoise Seas, Mike snagged himself a one of a kind hat (for $5) and that hat was a staple in our travels with Winston. Now that Mike has Pepe, a new travel lid seemed appropriate.

So … Mike snagged his Costa Rican travel hat this morning while he slipped out for pastries before we departed Monteverde. The cost of this hat? $4.50. SOLD! And just like that … Mike and Pepe are whole.

As for today’s travels … we said ✌️to the Monteverde cabins and ventured down and around the mountain for probably a total of 4.5 hours —> Quepos; a few stops for potty and then lunch at Restaurante Vista Mar added a bit to that.

Lunch was entertaining and food was decent. We are now oceanside, so seafood is very prevalent. Good for the crew, not so good for lil’ o’ me. Mike, Z and Matthew tore into their specialty tacos, and our waiter provided us with some Costa Rican dranks: a Guado Sour (pictured), Chile Guado (I think) and a sip of Costa Rican booze (like vodka). Thank goodness no altitude issues here. Altitude and booze is a dangerous mix - so I am told! 😬😉

All and all … another safe and sound travel day… and we are now “home” in Quepos for the next 4 nights.

I am starting to sound like a broken record about our accommodations but … this … new place …. Is …. Legit. Absolutely amazing and HUGE!!!

I failed miserably at taking pics of the place, as we were quite pooped upon arrival and the place just pulled you in so many directions to look around and explore.

Instead what I have for you are a few pics of the main living areas / kitchen uploaded and the link to VRBO listing with all the pro-fessional pics.

Once we were settled in and had a little relaxation time … we headed to Butcher Block for some Texas BBQ. Soooooo good! We ate until we simply couldn’t eat anymore. Mike had his choice of sauces so he was an extra happy camper! Talk about full bellies! Holy moly!

Tomorrow? Manual Antonio National Park. Our park tickets are for 8am so it’s an earlier morning for us. Mike says it’s a practice to prepare for early morning fishing on Sunday. Wish us luck! Practice makes perfect!

    Much love,
    M&A
