Day 12 - Tamarindo (R&R)

Today was a go with the flow kind of day … not too much to report in the way of activities but that was our goal so we nailed that.

After a slow start this morning … we moseyed our way to a local coffee shop - Nordico, which was recommended by Mario (remember him from Monteverde and our coffee tour?) Coffee was excellent but the food was all GF so pastries didn’t hit the mark. Hard to find delicious GF pastries; nothing compares to Pushkins when it comes to the GF stuff.

There was a little vendor fair just outside, so once we had our joe, it was time to shop ‘til Mike dropped. So basically we had like an hour. Hahaha!

Lots of boutiques and swimwear shops around. We popped into one where Lil’ Bo Peep (without any sheep) greeted us. And I’m not lying when I say, she was dressed like Lil’ Bo Peep but the Halloween costume version. She wore it well, so not “throwing shade”, and she knew her suits! Got me all squared away.

After that … not many other purchases. Then our hour ran out and Mike dropped. Back to our condo/penthouse to change and head down to the pool. This is where we spent the remainder of the day … relaxing … reading … chatting … dozing off …

Until it was time for dinner at Ocean (beach front restaurant) and ….. then ICE CREAM!

Did you think we would not find ice cream at least once on this adventure??? C’mon!

They had quite the selection … but I stuck with chocolate and mint chip, Mike selected mint chip and stracciatella (Oreo-kind), Carolyn went with mint chip, Matthew had chocolate cherry and peanut butter, and Lilly also spooned some mint chip. All were a hit!!!! Lots of life happening around this ice cream joint and it was nice to see. Even caught a dad “stealing” his son’s nose. He gave it back, of course, but always love that game! 😂

Tomorrow is our last full day here in Costa Rica … and boy do we have plans! Stay tuned! Hope tomorrow will be as sweet as I imagine it will be!
