  • First day in Camogli: beach and town

    16 agosto 2021, Italia ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

After breakfast we went to have a walk in the fishermen town of Camogli, named like this because “Ca”, means “home” and “mogli” means “wives” this is due to the fact that it was a fishermen village, the sailors were used to leave their homes to go fishing far away for a long time and so the town in that period was populated only by the wives.
It is a colorful town, filled with local shops and interesting food spots. After visiting Castel Dragone and the curch we went at the beach to swim and eat some typical FOCACCIA al FORMAGGIO! Focaccia with cheese😋.
From the sea you can see the beautiful and very close natural park of Portofino and the town’s sea walk which is beautiful to see.

  • Scary but cool

    16 agosto 2021, Italia ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

I was a bit sleepy and resting while i heard a loud noise that sounded like a plane…So i look up and don’t see anything, then i look in front of me and i see a very close plane pointing at the beach and coming in at an high speed. Suddenly it turns and lands in the water to get it in and to lift off again to drop it on the fires that are affecting the region this summer.😱Leggi altro

Tonight we had dinner together, eating pasta with mozzarella, tomatoes and basil and tiramisù then we went around in Camogli.
Ice cream, beer at the port and then sleep time because we are all very tired tn.

  • Paraggi

    18 agosto 2021, Italia ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

We reached the very popular and beautiful coast of Paraggi in between Santa Margherita and Portofino.
The lovely green water and the blue sky were a perfect background for our photos.
The building in the first photo is one of the most popular and exclusive discos of the region: the Covo di Nord-Est.
The road was long and narrow but filled with expensive SUVs, sport cars, and other luxury cars not normally seen on the streets.
Santa Margherita’s sea is know for its red shrimps and the green waters but also for the huge yachts presence in the area.

  • Portofino

    18 agosto 2021, Italia ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

Finally arrived in Portofino after a good 50 min walk.
Portofino is a very small town, popular for its super rich inhabitants. In fact you can find Di Caprio’s Villa as well as other villas with vips owners such as Johnny Depp, Arnault, Berlusconi, and many others.
It is common to meet people such as Spielberg and Jennifer Lopez in the town’s streets or at the bar.
Portofino is the richest italian town, don’t buy anything in town if you don’t want to spend a lot!

  • Mexican food and wondering around

    19 agosto 2021, Italia ⋅ 🌙 23 °C

After our day in Portofino we decided to have dinner in Camogli at Taberna Don Ricardo.
After our burgers and quesadillas, we were wondering around Camogli and, while we were eating a thick af nutella ice cream, we stumbled upon Castel Dragone.
Castel Dragone, in the past, was an island, only then connected to the mainland.
We reached the top of the Castle and it felt like to be in ancient times, when pirates used to attack the coastal towns and the Castle was able to protect the town with its spanish cannons.
Despite the defensive function, the view from the top was stunning.

  • Carbonara time

    20 agosto 2021, Italia ⋅ 🌙 24 °C

When we came back from windsurfing we were all pretty hungry and tired.
Philipp and Daniel asked me about the carbonara from our time together in the Netherlands so the menu was established.
    They liked it ✨
After dinner we went for a walk and we’ve met with two american friends from Ohio.
Everything took a fun turn since it looked like a joke: two americans, two germans and an italian walk into a bar…

  • Genova and pizza

    21 agosto 2021, Italia ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

On the 21st we went to Genova with our new american friends: Alex and Lawrence.
I packed everyone in my Panda and we left for Genova also called “the superb”.
Lawrence has never been in Italy before so he was a lil’ scared of my way of driving around at first.
When we arrived in Genova we tried to see as many things as we could but we had to leave something behind. Since Genova is the region’s capital, it would have taken at least two to three days to visit it properly.
At the St. Lorenzo’s cathedral i made them play a tricky game in Dan Brown’s Inferno style…they had to find an easter egg hidden on the cathedral’s front.
I didn’t post all of the photos of the things we saw because i live in the city so I didn’t take many.
We stayed for dinner at Pizzeria Sorbillo, one of the best Neapolitan pizzas in the city before going back to Camogli.

  • Wild boars say goodbye

    22 agosto 2021, Italia ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

On our way back home, it was raining a lot (almost like the liquor was raining in our throats few minutes before) and that was the moment we finally met 3 wild boars standing in front of our car, fearless.
The wild boars population in the region has increased drastically. It is possible to meet these boars all over the city at every time of the day and everywhere.
They are fearless and always in search for food.
They can look cute or just like pigs but they can be dangerous if they feel threatened or if they feel like their humbugs are.

  • Hiking on Portofino’s mountain

    22 agosto 2021, Italia ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

    Hiking day on Portofino’s mountain.
We woke up early in the morning to go hiking, the weather was kind with us because it was pretty cloudy.
We started our walk in the natural park and on our way we could see and visit abandoned bunkers and ruins from the second world war, take amazing shots with Philipp’s drone and spot local wildlife such as wild goats.
When we reached the end of the path we could swim in the marine protected area and the water was crystal clear and filled with sea life of every kind.
There we took videos with the GoPro which have been posted on the GoPro Liguria instagram page.
We came back trough a different path which was incredibly painful but, when we reached the end, it was worth the fatigue.

  • Last night together

    22 agosto 2021, Italia ⋅ ⛅ 23 °C

On our last night together we decided to have dinner in a very nice and local place in the hinterland behind Camogli.
    We had an appetizer with:
fried Focaccia, fried mushrooms, “panissette”, figs, salami and canapé.
    Then everyone took something different:
Me: lamb in barolo’sauce with baked potatoes and a glass of a red local wine (Colli di Lvni).
Philipp: pasta with yellow tomatoes, basil and burrata.
Daniel: pasta with mushrooms and tomato sauce.
Both of them drank the homemade beer.
All of us took the dessert.
But the real thing was the two rounds of “digestivo”/liquor poured directly in our mouths by the almighty hand of the waiter from above.
On our way back home, it was raining a lot (almost like the liquor was raining in our throats few minutes before) and that was the moment we finally met 3 wild boars standing in front of our car, fearless.
