    First day in Vancouver, Deep Cove and sea food

    Day one in Vancouver has been just as busy as every other day of ours.

    We took advantage of our last day with the car by driving out to a beautiful coastal town called Deep Cove. If you've watched the film "Remarkably Bright Creatures" then that's exactly where we were! If you haven't watched it, you should, it's on Netflix and really good.

    At Deep Cove, we took out a two person kayak and travelled out to some tiny beautiful beaches and got to meet some seals along the way!

    After that, we drove back into the city to meet Ella's friend Alanna for dinner. Alanna is Ella's mate from Ireland, who she met when they both studied in Austin! Alanna is now living in Vancouver and is letting us stay at her place (thanks Alanna).

    Mountain high, valley low - 6 hours of downhill

    After seeing the Meadows In The Sky at Mt Revelstoke, we began our 7 hour mega drive from Revy to Vancouver.

    This drive takes you from Revelstoke (450m) up to Kamloops (1400m) and then alllll the wayyy downwnnnn to Vancouver at sea level.

    We saw some beautiful scenery and learnt a lot about driving around semi trucks on Canadian highways....

    But with the drive complete, we have made it to beautiful Vancouver!    Read more

    Our final stop in the Rockies before our 6 hour mega drive out of the mountains and down to Vancouver!

    Revelstoke (Revy to the locals) is the adventure capital of the Rockies and home to Mt Revelstoke, a sub alpine national park known as the Meadows in the Sky.

    We had an amazing dinner at a restaurant located in the old school house before driving up to the national park to see an incredible cloud inversion above the Columbia River.

    Point Lace, our final hike in Yoho National Park

    September 15 in Canada ⋅ ☁️ 3 °C

    We struck camp and said goodbye to our tent for the last time. But before we left Alberta for British Columbia, we managed to squeeze in one last hike.

    Point Lace is another waterfall further into Yoho Valley, and after a short scramble, we were treated to some phenomenal views down through the valley.

    Jasper - Canoeing and hot springs

    We made it to Jasper! Today we went to another lake - Lake Maligne for some Canoeing. Unfortunately no moose were spotted but we saw and heard a Loon (loud Canadian bird). Then we did a spectacular drive over to Miette hot springs where we soaked our tired muscles.Read more

    Pancakes at dawn

    A beautiful morning starting at -2 degrees accompanied by some sensational pancakes (if I do say so myself).

    Jasper campsite suffered a massive wildfire a few years ago and, as a result, looks quite different to the rest of the Rocky's. Even with the loss of the trees, the skyline is pretty terrific.Read more

    Banff - Lake Moraine and Lake Louise

    Our first proper day! Big bowl of porridge at the campsite for fuel. Then caught a Parks Canada shuttle in the morning which took us to Lake Moraine, we enjoyed a lunchtime hike there before heading over to Lake Louise to do another hike but this time we stayed on the flat around the shoreline to take in the beautiful blue water and mountain views! Finally on our way to Jasper we saw our first Black Bear - don’t worry Ben has better photos on his big camera!!!Read more
