Redwood Forest

Next stop: Redwood Forest. A quick hike (for free (of course there‘s a paid option)) let us enjoy a bit of green for 3.5 km. I would have loved to stay there longer, but we had also booked a session in the Polynesian Springs - a spa with both acidic and alkaline pools with lots of minerals from the geothermal vents nearby. The pools have a range of about 38°C to 41°C. Turns out, it was way too hot for me. While I tried almost all of the pools, it wasn‘t only the heat that wasn‘t for me, but also the water felt incredibly heavy - like I was getting squashed by it. While I fled after a few minutes, Maddie certainly experienced the advertised positive impacts on her body and mind of the waters there.
