Gollum‘s Pool - Tawhai Falls

While Maddie was conquering the Tongariro Crossing (a 20km hike up on volcanic landscapes), I went to see two waterfalls instead (my 9km cannot compete with 20km, of course). I really wanted to do the Crossing as well, but I lacked the necessary gear like a rainproof jacket and a few layers of clothing not made of cotton, to keep you warm up there. I considered buying it, but I didn‘t feel ready for a +400$ investment just yet.
