Thailand was never a European colony like much of the rest of Southeast Asia. The king at the time felt it was important to look European when talking with Europeans. So he build his palace and dressed like Europeans. The first three pictures show some of his palace grounds. The two pictures of the Chinese building are also built on the palace grounds and where paid for by Chinese emigrants that became wealthy, as a thank you to the king.Read more
Thailand was significantly more developed then the other countries around it and was more like Mexico. But farmers in Thailand and neighboring counties set fire to their farmland and there is industrial air pollution, resulting in a haze over the country during the dry season. So the country has two seasons, lot of air pollution season and a rainy season. Making it not as great of a country to visit as I have read.Read more
