Upopoy National Ainu Museum

The group made a brief stop at a museum about the indigenous people of Hokkaido. It is on the shore of beautiful Lake Poroto. Pictured are wood shavings, called inaw, used as offerings to deities for protection; carved libation sticks used to make offerings for prayers by dipping the tip into sake and depositing drops on a venerated item; and traditional clothing.Read more
