We replaced the poppies and gnarly old RSL stalwarts with sousaphones, stars & stripes and military school students. Remembrance day is usually a sombre affair, but in NYC at least, it is a flag waving, march-song singing parade complete with hundreds of units and a few dozen floats. We camped out on a corner with a good view and watched the progressively older and less out-of-time schools march by.
