Day 13 Travel to Amritsar

It’s a sunny start to the day . Bus and car down the foothills to Ambala for transfer to the train to Amritsar !
The drive is entertaining for naturally blind bends and some crazy driving by others who believe it’s possible to overtake anywhere! The train pops up from time to time ! We unfortunately don’t pass the nine arch bridge again and get down by lunchtime . The station is relatively small with the usual slice of humanity - passengers, beggars , porters and food sellers plus the odd Sikh . Then our last train arrives - the Paschim Express from Mumbai - which is comfortable and chai is taken .
We arrive Amritsar after 7. Tomorrow the Golden Temple !Read more
