• An icy cold Christmas 🎄

    December 25, 2024 in Japan ⋅ ⛅ 11 °C

We put our Christmas hats on and celebrated Christmas in Japan. We opened our presents and my favourite was my Japan Hello Kitty duffle bag. Santa left us a note on the door telling us that our gifts will be in Darwin. Will just have to wait a bit longer.
Me and Frog organised a treasure hunt for mumma and dadda Grinch. They had to read riddles to find their gifts. We talked to Pappy and Florrie and I missed them more today.
And of course we had to go to a shrine on Christmas day. I thought we should have gone to an amusement park!
The temple looked very red, maybe a Christmas Temple after all! The bamboo forest part was ok though. There must have been at least 1000 red pillars that we walked through - they just kept going on and on and on.
Luckily there was a strawberry smoothie with soft Japanese ice cream on top waiting for me at the end of the walk- yummy yummy! The Japanese sure know how to make good ice cream. They must use special milk from special ice cream cows. Between the ice cream cows and the Wagyu cows, they seem to have gotten it right!.
We did a fancy buffet dinner and I did like the spaghetti with lots of parmesan cheese. The steak was pretty good, a bit raw for my liking but I did eat it all.
My Christmas in Japan was not my favourite because I missed my friends. And here we had to go to another temple! No temples in Darwin on Christmas day
