Crepes, honey and coffee again at the terrace restaurant and some final photos in the Djemaa el Fna. It's relatively quiet in the early morning but there are some fruit juice vendors. I have a deliciously bitty orange juice but the men are well skilled in the art of upselling. Grape juice, monsieur? Pineapple? Pomegranate? Maybe it's because I don't go the extra mile that they look a bit grumpy in the photo!
It's time for the taxi to the airport and spend the last of my Moroccan currency on those old standbys, fridge magnets. It's remarkable that a country with a culture so unlike ours can be only 3 1/2 hours flight away. It's been a good trip and I look forward to going back one day.
At Gatwick, 3 degrees C and torrential rain welcome me. Still, there's the chance to get wet again inside as I meet friends at a pub near Victoria. As it turns out, I will miss by a few days the drone attack which is to cripple Gatwick for 30 hours. There's something to be said for returning home in good time for Christmas.もっと詳しく
旅行者Hmmm.....probably not brilliant but I wouldn't want to put you off. I met few other travellers this time and can't remember seeing any single women. That's not to say they don't exist; I think you should compare it with your experiences of Egypt. The vendors and touts don't take no for an answer and that applies to men as well. Mind you, I think they hassle older travellers less and your knowledge of Arabic (albeit converted to Maghrebi) would be a big plus. Maybe you could start a travel forum on Tripadvisor for some anecdotal stories.
Speak, World
What beautiful light!
Speak, WorldWhat a great trip! How was it traveling alone? How would it be for a 67-year-old lady to travel alone? Just asking…!
