Day 2 - North Yorkshire Moors Railway

Pünktlich mußten wir los um unseren Zug von Goathland Station zu schaffen.
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) is one of the UK’s oldest and most popular heritage lines, originating as the Whitby & Pickering Railway in 1836 to boost trade, initially featuring horse-drawn carriages before transitioning to steam.

Dieser Zug/ Zug Station Goathland ist auch sehr bekannt geworden als Hogsmeade Station in the first Harry Potter film and featured as Aidensfield in the ITV programme Heartbeat.
Unsere Fahrt ging in die kleine schöne Stadt Pickering. Dort verbrachten wir ein paar schöne Stunden und dann wider zurück zufahren. Die Fahrt geht durch den Nord Yorkshire National Park .
Zurück in Goathland besuchten wir die ältesten Tankstelle ( eingestellt ) Englands und wohl auch die berühmteste.
The Petrol station was used for 18 years in the TV show Heartbead and according to the owner over 10000 times the TV production came to his station. At one point the petrol station was not only a petrol station but also a funeral service , taxi service , shop and ice-cream shop . The owner was also a talent spotter for the motor bike racing on the Isle of Man and proudly told us that his team was always under the 5 best ones.

Da das Wetter es gut mit uns meinte beendeten wir den Tag mit einer kleinen Wanderung durch den National Park zu den Mallan Sport Waterfall.Read more
