• Swimming with Whalesharks II

    March 4, 2020, Indian Ocean ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

Same procedure, here again, group one got ready first and group two got dropped off a bit ahead of us, to take over the whale shark from us after a while.
Here the visibility was much better so I could get some pictures from the whale shark though also this one was around 5 m deep under the surface.
It was so amazing to see this huge but so calm and relaxed animal passing by. 😊

Both groups only got to swim once with this one until it was diving down deeper after a while so the boat was picking us up and the spotter plane was directing us to the other whale shark in the area that was back closed to the surface.

Well, this one was definitely the best one!!! This one was much closer to the surface and I was ending up almost straight in front of it as it was changing its direction when he swam towards us! Wow the mouth is soo huge 😳
I quickly took a picture and moved out of the way!
I swam quite a long time beside this one, really closed and he stayed quite some time closer to the surface. I was even one of the lucky ones to he a picture with a whale shark in the background from the photographer that is with us in the water 🥰

After everyone was back on board, still blown away from what we just saw and did. They tried to find on more whale shark but it seems like all of them were diving down into deeper waters. BUT they found a Manta Ray, even that one pretty close to our boat so we went there and got to swim with the Manta Ray as well! 😍
Wow, this one was so huge! 😳
And really calm and relaxed swimming under us without even be disturbed by our company.

    What a magical day! 🥰
