Corfu town

After a blowy night and with a very damp forecast for the day ahead we headed by bus to Corfu town to be proper tourists for the day see the sights we missed last year. The old fort was impressive, some of the Venetian buildings as well as the British ones were still standing some had been restored. The fisherman’s shacks lining the moat walk were brilliant and we enjoyed walking through the fort to visit Mandraki Marina. The view of old Corfu Town from the lighthouse at the top of the Fort took our breathe away mostly coz it was so windy but also pretty impressive. The church was a lot less sparkling than the average Greek church but so was the day, from about noon it has been raining but we are snug in a cafe with our first English paper since Dad bought one over in February. Had lovely lunch at Bellisimo restaurant in Corfu town. We stopped off at Lidl’s on the way back and bought a case so can start packing a few presents for when we come home. Who wants Ouzo?もっと詳しく
