• Gravel roads

    Brekkie, waterfalls and a rainy beginning in Tasmania. In Ben Lomond National Park we, yet again, met a gravel road leading close to the summit. Through steep, narrow turns in a rough and misty landscape the van slowly got us uphill to an astonishing view of a mountain of tall columns of dolerite formed by lava, earthquakes and ice.
    Looking for a spot to work within reach of data we made it out, just to find another secluded gravel road through rain forrests and fields. We later knew that this would not be the last muddy, unsealed drive of the day. Eventually we did find a spot for the night in a dark and empty village with no signs of the Friday night that it was.
