We’ve made it to Detroit but not before passing the turn off for Melbourne, London & Windsor. Remind me again which continent we’re on!!!!!!
The border crossing back into the USA was a very long wait in the queue, luckily only 2 minutes to get past the guard, then we were waived through the inspection point…. There were many unhappy people at the point when we drove past - sucks to be them.
We headed to Motown only to find out the days allotment of tickets had been sold, come back tomorrow was the suggestion… don’t worry, we’ll be the first in line at 9:30 sharp.
Off to Piquette Ave Ford Museum at the original plant. If only the walls could talk.
My grandfather Ernest Barling was a bodybuilder at the Ford Factory in Geelong Australia back in the 1930’s.
Lots of Model T’s, Trucks, machinery & car parts. Too many to take photos of but the most important one is the Fire Truck. Roger was a little stocked.
Off to our accommodation, The Inn on Ferry - Owen’s House. Stunning old buildings converted from a single home to rooms… glorious.
We’re on the 3rd floor, no lifts 😳
Roger’s suggestion of taking up only the bare essentials was a fabulous suggestion. We’ll be getting our steps up today.Read more
TravelerHave fun! You were probably in Detroit before we got home. After a short visit with our daughter we arrived home at about 3:45.
TravelerWe had ideas about what we’d see but never in my wildest dreams did I think everything would be next level. Fun fact - I didn’t know there was two falls, one on each side of the border. The USA side is the rocky one and the Canadian side is the horseshoe.
TravelerYep … Emily went. The Americans wear one colour poncho. The Canadians another. Emily was told that was so they knew which country to return the swimmers to. ( Think it was a joke.)

TravelerGlad to hear you’re home safe. And thanks once again for being our guides.
TravelerYou are seeing so much on this trip. It all looks incredible
