• Ride Day #4 - Princeton to Penticton

    This day started great, with a lovely call with Julie and the girls, as we wished Julie a happy birthday! Things took a turn quickly though. We had this ride down as not-too-hard. But 20-30km headwinds in the morning made even the long gradual descents tutors in the definition of resilience! But Glen and Debbie passed us around lunchtime and bought us samosas in Kerimos - refreshing our outlook. Then we traded the wind for the beating sun. Thankfully, the final descent into Penticton was fast and fun. I wish I had a picture of Judah and I owning the highway as we bombed down together at (omit speeds given family reading) - but that would have been dangerous! We finished the ride day mid-afternoon, giving lots of time to enjoy a beautiful lakeside campsite, and to talk with one of the managers about his wife's story as a nurse - which is very similar to my mom's..Read more
