• Ride Day #6 - Vernon to Revelstoke

    May 14 in Canada ⋅ ☁️ 11 °C

The day of 100 rainbows. The ride out of Vernon was GORGEOUS! The wind was at our backs and we had long gradual descents for a good 70km. Early on we had our first Tim Horton's donuts of the road trip, and our next memorable stop was at the Last Spike site for the Canadian Pacific Railway, 70km in. With 40km to go to Revelstoke, the weather was clearly turning. For the next 20km we were soaked through, but then the sun suddenly broke out. As it did, every vehicle that passed us - and the highway was busy! - left a spray of mist behind that cast a long rainbow for us off each bumper. I'd be surprised if the conditions were ever just right to see such a cascade of highway rainbows ever again. While riding, I also prayed that there would be five new donations to the Canada Helps page today, and there were six! Thank you!Read more
