Monteverde

10/29 - woke up at 7 to get to the bus for Tilaran. Turns out the road from Tilaran to Santa Elena is intransito. Instead, we then took a bus back to Cañas, then to Las Juntas, and finally got in at 6pm into Santa Elena after 4 transfers. Had really good ceviches at Las Juntas, as well as an Arroz con Pollo at a Soda Parada at Cañas. Met a cool couple going to Nicaragua

10/30 - tried to get on the 7:30 bus for Monteverde Cloud Forest, but it wasn't running. Hitchhiked there with another Canadian couple. Walked through every trail there in less than 2hrs somehow. Got a drink + pastry from Cafe Colibri. Saw a Coati steal food from someone. Then saw a bunch of hummingbirds (the highlight of the day). Hitchhiked back on the bed of a pickup from Ricardo who works on conservation work. Went to Panaderia El Hornito de Pilo and got a papas enchilada. Then we went to Jimenez and got CR Pupusas (which are postres!), then Arroz con Pollo at the chicken place next door. Met our neighboring hostel mates (Simon and Margaux).もっと詳しく
