    Day 8 Viana to Logroño
    15.2km
    3 hours walking
    185.4km
250568 (over a quarter of a million steps in 7 days)

Short day today 10km and some touristing around the city
I feel really exhausted now that I’ve stopped, hopefully I’ll get my walking legs back for the 32km day tomorrow
Today’s walk was mostly downhill, nothing of great interest to see but everybody was in good spirits, a couple of roadside stops for toilet breaks, a chat with lovely Bernie from Massachusetts and a wander around the city of Longrono. I definitely prefer the feels of the little villages moreso however the bath in this accomodation is pretty bloody good.
There’s a few nights I share a room with other group members and it’s actually been nice to have a chat at nighttime as you’re going to sleep. I’m not sure what my snoring has been like but they are still speaking with me ! I told a couple of girls today that I had cleaned up in the friends stakes in my walking group - a fashion stylist and a masseur!!
Last nights accommodation was incredible, it was an old manor house from the 15th century, very well preserved. Lovely Olivier who was a kind Frenchman gave us a tour and told a really captivating tale about the history - I hate history but he even captured my attention. We ended up way beneath the ground in which were wine cellars, production rooms and hideouts back in the day. I won’t try to tell the story because I wouldn’t do it justice.
I’ve taken the Spanish equivalent of restavit The last couple of nights and hopefully my sleep is back on track now. It had gotten to a point that each afternoon I would get anxious as to whether or not I would sleep and then that would make it worse..
    Buen Camino
I woke up at 5:12am this morning to what felt like a spotlight in my eyes and it was the full moon through the open window., nice start to the day xx
