This morning we had a lovely breakfast, well, it’s actually western which is a bit disappointing, but that’s ok. Onsen again before heading it for the day. We actually have almost the entire Ryokan (hotel) to ourselves as it’s off-peak, so it’s nice and quiet. There’s only 2 other couples staying here (who we haven’t even bumped into).
We headed out to do our washing at the local laundromat. Not really sure if we even had washing detergent added to the load, as there was no way to purchase detergent! Some machines we have seen add the detergent automatically during the wash, but not really sure if this was the same. Oh well. While we waited for the washing g, we sat in the adjoining cafe and had Takoyaki, pancakes, bubble tea, curry bread and Chris ordered a Weiner Coffee. Now, that was a bold order as we had no idea what it was going to be, but all worked out fine as it was just coffee topped with cream (Vienna coffee).
We walked to the Information centre to grab some local cycling maps and headed back to the hotel.
The rest of the afternoon was quite chilled. We had to move rooms as our Aircon broke, kids watched tv and read some books.
The kids and I went for a ride along the river while Ciennah jogged. It was nice to get lost in the little town and work our way back to the hotel. We fed the Carp fish and headed to our dinner banquet- my favourite part of the day!
Plenty of beautiful sashimi, tempura and pickles.
Another lovely day in Nagano (Chikuma).
