Obervellach to Danielsberg

Today’s walking was listed as ‘easy’ but we all felt the humidity and felt like we could not get out of 1st gear. I was apologising for ‘faffing about’ and then I looked up and noticed the street sign - we were actually in Pfaffenberg! Rudi and I were picked up and taken back to the Herkuleshof Inn for dinner where we were treated to a truly memorable meal of local Camembert, escargot and local venison. The owner (who lived in Sydney for a few years and had an Australian partner) then took us for ‘an adventure at the bar’ trying all sorts of local drinks and all on the house. They were also hosting a wedding and on dark, they lit the ‘fire garden’ which was a spectacular sight. We were finally dropped back to our accommodation at midnight feeling quite merry.Читать далее
