Day 29: More time in León

Another day in León. Swopped bunk for a room as that was all that was available. The room overlooks the square with the Gaudi house now a museum. My room has a balcony enclosed by glass. This is the view from the balcony and you can see the Gaudi building Casa Botines. I went to the museum and there was an interesting series of panels explaining the construction both in Spanish and English. In addition to the house which in its time contained a textile businesson the ground floor and apartments above, there was an exhibition of Picasso works and watercolours from Dali inspired by his reading of Dante's Divine Comedy. In the evening took up an invitation to go to mass at 6 pm in the cathedral and afterwards we had a beer sitting outside in a sunlit plaza. Being too early for a restaurant meal and wanting an early night, bought a convenience meal of seafood paella in small supermarket which I heated in the microwave back in the hostel.
