Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day. I started the day at Mass praying not only for the blessing of my own mom and the gift I have been given to mother 5 wonderful kids, but also for the blessing that the Blessed Mother Mary has been in my life.

This trip is another reminder of the importance of the connection to my spiritual Mother Mary.

After Mass, I connected with a dear friend and Porto native Alex Portugal and his 9-year old daughter Maria.

We went to a local craft market, visited the Porto Cathedral where many pilgrims begin their Camino.

Went to Gaia to an oceanfront restaurant for lunch. Then we picked up Becky and toured the rest of the beaches and city. Alex and his daughter were excellent tour guides!

We returned early evening and started packing for tomorrow’s departure.

Today was a bittersweet day. It was a gorgeous day in Porto and also the first time being away from my family on Mother’s Day. 🥲Read more
