• God Shows Up!

    15 mai, Espagne ⋅ ☀️ 66 °F

The lesson of this trip has been to surrender completely to God’s will. You can plan and plan to do the Camino, but the most important plan is to be open to God’s plan.

After 4 days of Becky being sick to her stomach and plowing through walking 20+KM each day, she was done! She was on the brink of having to go to the ER. Then I remembered I could text my friend Vinnie, who is an ER doctor. He said she needed to immediately go on antibiotics. He texted me the name and the dosage and miraculously I had it in my suitcase.

Today she woke up as a new person! The weather was about 10° warmer. The birds were singing. My feet were no longer throbbing. We were grateful and ready to head to Pontevedra - a 14 KM hike through forests, farmland, pastures, a river trail, and city sidewalks.

The lolligagger group today was led by Christopher Geis, the Executive Director of our school.

Our 10 miles walk was filled with God winks! We saw waterfalls. dragonflies, incredible wildflowers, more calla lillie’s, horses, cows, sheep, churches, and dozens and dozens of pilgrims who were so friendly.

I took some quiet time away from the group to take in the scenery and pray the Rosary. Since it was Thursday, I prayed the luminous mysteries. The fourth one is the Transfiguration. It was at that moment that it hit me how God had taken so much of our distress from the prior day and moved it into lightness!

We were renewed in body, mind, and spirit thanks to prayer and God’s grace!

We arrived to our hotel in 4 1/2 hours and had time to recoup, check out the city, have an afternoon latte and pastry, visit the church St. Peregrina, attend Mass and have a wonderful dinner.

Thank you for everyone’s prayers and encouragements. I am praying for your prayer requests too.

Praising our Lord for His grace today. Tomorrow is another 25KM day.

Also praising God that my mom is able to go home from the hospital today!
