    May 16 in Spain ⋅ 🌙 64 °F

We had an early start today to get to Caldas de Reis - 24 KM or about 16 miles.

It was the warmest day so far with temperatures about 75°. One of the things I’m loving about being in Spain is that it doesn’t get dark until 10 PM.

Our walk was once again incredibly beautiful. It didn’t seem as difficult as the first few days, but my feet are definitely getting very sore. The best medicine I found for this is playing loud dance music for the last 2 to 3 miles. It’s amazing how much this has helped me to push through.

We came upon a really beautiful waterfall today that some of the kids were able to go in and slide down. It was ice cold and felt amazing on our feet.

The real prize today was finding a thermal hot spring pool that we could all go in before dinner. Best €12 spent so far!

So grateful for this day…the opportunities to connect with our team and students, the amazing nature and greenery, the fact that I am able to push myself physically and mentally, and ability I’ve had to hear God’s still voice as I pray and walk.

Tomorrow is a holiday in Spain. We stocked up on water and snacks because stores are closed. We have a 19KM day to look forward to.
