    Yellowstone - Fairy Falls

    September 8, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 11 °C

Sadly our last day in Yellowstone. The last five days have just flown by.

Today we are out for an early morning hike to Fairy Falls, an easy 2.5 mile walk from the trailhead and the last opportunity to enjoy the atmospheric early morning light.

Fairy Falls, 200 feet (61 m) high, is one of Yellowstone's most spectacular waterfalls.
Brave souls can even go for a dip at the bottom of the falls. But apparently the water is rather cold.
Thank you Scott, for taking one for the team 😃

The area around Fairy Falls was heavily affected by the 1885 fires and over a hundred years later, not a lot of the dead trees have decomposed due to the dryness of the zone.
