Up at 6.30am. Breakfast around 7am. Left the Face West Hotel in Le Pont around 8.30am. Parked at Orange around 9.30am visited the Orange Roman amphitheatre for about 1 hour which was built in the first century AD. It has the best preserved stage wall of any Roman amphitheatre in the world. There is a statue of Augustus in a niche within the stage wall. This wall provides the acoustics to allow this restored amphitheater to be used for opera performances today. There were interesting mosaics, statues and other relics in the museum. We then drove to Carpentras Friday markets.Meer informatie
