Riglos Spanish Pyrenees Fri Sep 29 2023

    September 29, 2023 in Spain ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

Started driving to Casa Barranquero 30 Calle Santa Cruz Riglos in the Huesca province of the autonomous Aragon region in the Spanish Pyrenees after 2pm and arrived around 3pm. The B&B host got Richard to drive up an very steep narrow street to drop off bags. On the way down the car at one point was on three wheels with two feet of air under the fourth wheel. Sorted out where to park the car and getting our stuff organised. It was very hot around 30 degrees. Yvonne and I missed buying bread for breakfast as the little shop in the town had closed at 4pm (siesta?). We also checked where we might go for dinner and had a beer at a refugio eatery of sorts. At 5pm we left the B&B in Riglos in the Huesca province of the autonomous Aragon region in the Spanish Pyrenees and walked the 5.7km Camino del Cielo circular path behind the town. Highlights of the walk were flying and nesting Griffin Vultures that were really close at times. There were spectacular conglomerate rock formations and views. After we arrived back after sunset around 8.15pm the little shop was open with locals outside drinking beer. Yvonne and Karen went in and purchased bread and chocolate. Then we had dinner in the GR1 Refugio Yvonne and I visited earlier. Dinner around 8.30pm was salad and pork sausages with toast and tomato paste on top. Back to 30 Calle Santa Cruze Riglos in Huesca province of the autonomous Aragon region in the Spanish Pyrenees around 9.30pm.Read more
