• Final day in Paris

    August 11, 2025 in France ⋅ 🌙 25 °C

Our final morning in Paris arrived far too soon and honestly, we weren’t ready to say goodbye. Despite the mixed reviews we’d heard before coming, we’ve genuinely loved every moment in this city. If we had more time, we’d happily stay longer. But with new adventures on the horizon, we were determined to make the most of our last day.

We kicked things off bright and early, setting out with one goal to finally try the famous hot chocolate at Carette Café. We’d attempted it the day before but were met with an hour long queue — no merci! This time, we beat the rush and were seated within ten minutes. Success!
We ordered the iconic hot chocolate, a buttery croissant, and a fresh juice to share. Moments later, everything arrived, looking as dreamy as you'd imagine. The hot chocolate? Basically a mug full of melted Belgian chocolate thick, velvety, and sooooooo rich. They served enough for about four cups, but even between the two of us, we couldn’t finish it all. Decadent is an understatement!

With our sugar levels peaking and a full day ahead, we hopped on the train to Versailles.
The ride was just under an hour, and soon we were walking through the grand gates. Unfortunately the Palace itself is closed on o Monday but we were still able to wander through the magnificent gardens and wow, did they impress. Perfectly manicured hedges, funny shaped trees and huge ponds. It honestly felt like something straight out of a fairytale. We could’ve spent hours getting lost in the scale of it all.

By early evening, we headed back to Paris. Instead of eating out, we cooked up some simple chicken fajitas in our hotel kitchen quick, easy, and just what we needed. Then it was time to pack up our bags and prep for tomorrow’s travel day. Next stop Nice!!

Stay tuned — the south of France awaits!
