• Nice is Nice

Today was our first full day in Nice and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect start. The morning started quietly with a simple breakfast of yoghurt and muesli at our Airbnb. No rush, no plans, just easing into our day. Once we were ready, we packed up for the beach and walked down to the water. The sun was already shining, and the buzz of people started to fill the streets.

We picked a spot on the rocky beach in front of the Gatorade blue water. It was exactly what you would imagine it to be, stunning. The sea was the perfect kind of refreshing, warm enough that you could stay in for as long as desired but with a touch of cold to soothe you from the scorching heat. We swam, sunbathed, and soaked it all in until about midday, when the heat started to really kick in.

Back at the Airbnb, we made ourselves some lunch and recharged for round two. We hopped on some bikes and went exploring through Old Town Nice. Every corner feels like a postcard! Colourful buildings, cobbled streets, and so much character. It was so joyful.

After that, we wandered down to the port and took our time admiring all the yachts (and maybe doing a little daydreaming by picking out our future boat). Never say never right?!……. We walked our way around and ended up back at the beach again, this time just sitting and people watching, while we watched the parasailers take off and land on the beach in front of us.

As the day started to wind down, we made a simple dinner back at the Airbnb, then walked down for a final swim as the sun set. The water was calm, the beach was starting to clear out and the sky turned breathtaking colours. It was just what we needed after an already perfect day.
