• Slow day in Florence

    August 18, 2025 in Italy ⋅ ⛅ 31 °C

Today was a slow day in Florence, we had a biggish night the night before so we had a much needed lie in this morning. Once we started feeling guilty about wasting the day we got up, made some breakie and then set out on our way.

We wandered through the beautiful cobblestone streets admiring all of the beautiful buildings and cute little stores tucked away. You could honestly spend your day just wandering and watching there is something so enjoyable about it.

We grabbed some lunch before needing a break from the hot sun so decided to check out the Giunti Odeon. It’s the oldest cinema in Florence now surrounded by a beautiful book store. It’s free to enter and you can sit up in the beautiful seats and watch the old film they play while watching people below look at all the fabulous books.

We stayed for a while and made use of the free wifi and air conditioning and planned a little more of our trip.

Before we knew it, it was time to head back to our hostel so we didn’t miss free pasta hour. Yip, you heard it right, every night our hostel puts on free pasta hour and you can go and help yourself! You best believe we are making the most of that and saving ourselves some coin! Tonight’s pasta flavour - pesto and for free pasta, it is yum!

We had a couple drinks with our friends then decided to hit the hay. We have a day trip to Pisa tomorrow so it’s up bright and early for us! Night night everyone.
