• A much needed beach day

    August 27, 2025 in Italy ⋅ 🌙 23 °C

After a slow morning catching up with family back home, we eased into the day with our usual breakfast and something you have heard a million times before…. muesli, yogurt, and fresh fruit. You may be thinking, aren’t you sick of that by now??? But honestly I look forward to it every morning, it’s simple, but perfect fuel for another sunny day in Salerno and the summer fruit here is next level!

By late morning we wandered down to the beach and claimed a spot at the water’s edge, two sunbeds and an umbrella, our little home base for the day. From there we swam, sunbathed, chatted and Jayde may have dosed for a minute or two but he won’t admit that.. We really just soaked up the beautiful sun and each others company. Bliss!

When hunger struck we grabbed a couple of kebabs from a nearby store, interesting to say the least but they were yum and we’ve survived the rest of the day with no problems so that’s a win! We took them back to our loungers, filled our tummies and surprise surprise had an afternoon that drifted on much like our morning, sun, sea and sunbathe (and for Jayde sleep) hehe.

Eventually, we peeled ourselves away and headed back to our Airbnb for showers and a simple dinner. Once the heat of the day softened, we strolled along Salerno’s beautiful promenade and grabbed a gelato to enjoy on our walk. Although the gelato itself was delicious, I felt flustered when ordering and somehow ended up with coffee flavour. If you know me, I don’t really drink coffee so the sweetie treaty didn’t really hit how the sweetie treaty should have ugh. Luckily Jayde stayed cool, calm and collected when he ordered his so got exactly what he wanted. Food envy at its finest.

Tomorrow we are trading in sunbeds for snorkels. We have an amazing snorkling boat tour planned through the Amalfi Coast and Positano and we are so excited! Talk tomorrow, love you all xx
