After yesterday’s marathon of travel, we let ourselves have a slow, easy morning in Split. We lingered in bed, enjoyed a yummy breakfast, and called home to catch up with family. It was exactly what we needed to recharge before diving into our first real day here.

By about 10:30, we wandered out and made our way to the Green Market, just a short five minute walk from our Airbnb. The market was buzzing with stalls overflowing with linen clothes, trinkets, and fresh produce. One thing we’ve noticed here, though, is how hard it is to just browse. Shop owners can be very pushy. Poor Jayde got caught in an awkward situation today where the seller became frustrated and angry at him when he didn’t end up buying something after trying a top on.

From the market, we strolled down to the port and took in the views along the water, stopping in a few shops along the way. Of course, no sunny morning walk is complete without gelato, so we stopped at a famous gelato shop in town. Honestly, I wish I could send the taste through the phone it was unreal especially the passion fruit which I know Mum would have loved!

Afterwards, we headed back to our Airbnb to whip up some lunch before grabbing our bags and making our way to the beach. The sky was a little overcast, and the waves were quite choppy, so instead of swimming we just found a quiet spot to sit, relax, and chat.

Back at the apartment, the afternoon turned into planning time. We finalized our Greece itinerary while making dinner, exciting things ahead! Then, after we ate, we decided to head back out for a nighttime walk along the port. The vibe was completely different after dark, lively with party boats, music, and people everywhere, but still such a beautiful evening stroll.

Tomorrow we’re off on a full-day tour to Krka National Park, and we are so excited to see the waterfalls and explore somewhere new. Split has already given us a wonderful start, and it’s just the beginning.
