Dinner @ Sakız w/ Esin & Cenap

Braving the often heavy downpours that plagued our evening, we went out to dinner with Esin and Cenap, Mui’s cousin and her husband. As seems to have become a tradition, we opted to dine at Sakız Restoran, across the road from the Pasaport ferry landing in Alsancak.

In İzmir, often it is still possible to dine outdoors even in the winter … sometimes with the aid of heat lamps, which was the case tonight. Despite the damp chill, we were comfortable enough in the glassed in section on the sidewalk. … safer than being in the packed indoors section during the pandemic..

We opted for a selection of mezes to share and had a very nice meal with good company.Read more
