Busy @ the THY Biz Lounge

I love the THY Business Lounge at IST. It is highly touted by travelers … and rightfully so. Anything you could want from comfy sitting areas; to a TV room where sometimes they screen concerts and such on a large screen; to showers; to luggage storage bins; to high-speed internet; to a business office; to varied, tasty, and cooked-to-order foods. The lounge has it all.

We enjoy spending time at the lounge between flights. It’s a highlight of what is a long travel day for us when we are flying back home to the US.

Not this time, though. It was still great to have lounge access. But I spent most of my time working on the details of our rescheduled flight from IAH to COS via DEN. The good news? We’ve got the seats we wanted, and I was able to switch our existing E+ (Economy Plus) upgrade to one flight and use travel credits to pay the upgrade on the second flight. And somewhere in there, I managed to munch on some delicious food and take a wander around the lounge for some snapshots.

And now, it’s time to pack up and head to our gate. The overhead display says that it will take us 14-19 minutes to walk to the B gates. We’re going to give ourselves an hour. Why? Because passengers on US-bound flights from this part of the world get “treated” to a tertiary security screening at the gate before embarking the plane. The queue can be long.

Off we go. More from the long-haul over the Atlantic …
