Since we arrived in San Juan rather early — well before sunrise — the sail-in scenery was cloaked in darkness. So we went down to deck 5 starboard for the sail out since our veranda was not only getting the brunt of the hot sun, but it was also on the wrong side of the ship.

Imagine our surprise when we saw, as we pulled out of our berth, that in the interim since our return to Insignia, NCL Dawn had been joined by two more big ships … one from RCL and another one from Celebrity. Definitely time to get out of dodge.

Tomorrow is the last port of call of this cruise … and one we have not visited before.Read more

Two to Travel No, Cuba is shut down to US visitors … happened sometime in the past few years, after opening briefly.

That RCI ship there in the middle is Jewel of the Seas. We were on it on the same day, but we were there until late evening. I think I saw the Insignia in St. Lucia as well and I told my DH that it was on its RTW cruise. :) [Pia]

Two to Travel Not us in St Lucia … wasn’t on the itinerary for Insignia. We were on a pre RTW cruise when we were in SJ, one version of which embarked in Miami in the 28th. Picking up majority of world cruisers in SF next week. Time is flying.
