In 2017, we climbed the 418 steps to the top of Mount Aksla for great city views — Ålesund, Norway.

NB Day 2: Back to Ålesund

This was another short stop in Ålesund … just long enough to pick up the tours and independents who disembarked this morning.

Again, the ship docked at the commercial port on the other side of the city. I know this because I’m used to seeing Mount Aksla to the right and it was on the left this time. Took me a minute to get my bearings. Anyway, I got a few glimpses of the city between buildings, but that was it for photo ops. At least there was no rain at that moment.

And then, onward north … and into the rain.

After spending most of the day in the fresh air on deck, it was an early night for us back in the cabin.
