    Cologne Cathedral

    This morning's tour was Old Towne Cologne with the highlight being the Cathedral. Cologne was 96% destroyed during WW2 and the city was rebuilt to look as it did pre-war. The Cathedral was damaged during the war although there was an allied effort to not bomb it. Construction began on the Cathedral, also known as Saint Peter and Mary, in 1248 and took centuries to finish. It costs 9M Euros a year for maintenance and upkeep. It is one of the largest church's and can be seen for miles.Read more
