• Himeji Castle & Kobe

    April 16 in Japan ⋅ ☁️ 16 °C

Today we went to Himeji Castle on a day trip! It's about an hour and a half from Osaka and it was amazing. It's the biggest and one of the most well kept castles in Japan, built in the 1300s. You can go all the way to the top and there are fantastic views of Himeji. After the castle, we were able to walk through the castle gardens. There were beautiful ponds and flowers, including some irises that reminded me of my mom. There were also a special breed of cherry blossoms, that bloom later and are grown only in the Himeji gardens.

On our way home, we went to Suma Beach in Kobe. It's a beautiful, sandy beach in the southern region of Kobe. We had some Kobe Beef Yakiniku and headed home on the train. It was a long, beautiful day! We saw so much and got to explore a new city.
