    PEI National Park

    Our first night on PEI was spent watching a beautiful sunset on Stanhope beach and a splodge in the stony sea before returning to the cabin for a campfire and port. We had a last morning the following morning - unbelievable torrential rain had woken us up in the middle of the night. Heading out to Greenwich, we wanted to see the famed sand dunes of PEI. The national park and the wetlands here house a great variety of wildlife...sadly what we saw were mosquitos. On, what would turn out to be a fruitless mission, we then drove across the island to Victoria in the hope of going clamming. This tiny town of 100 inhabitants was very picturesque but sadly there was no expeditions until the following day. Thankfully driving around PEI is fun anyhow, and petrol is cheap! BBQ for tea, including a maple blueberry sausage which I couldn't pass up buying - surprisingly, not as awful as it sounds! A relaxing evening of BBQ, port and campfire was accompanied by an unsolicited musical interlude. Whilst the national park was peaceful, one of the houses behind the park was holding some sort of concert - several hours of 'In The Jungle' and 'Bad Bad Leroy Brown' which sounded like any karaoke does after a few beers.
