    Prince Edward Island

    August 4, 2016 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

After an early-ish start from Fredericton (after a cheeky lie-in in the massive bed!), we headed on the 4hr drive to PEI for our two nights of 'camping'. Ben was excited to drive across the 13km bridge that connected PEI to the mainland, the longest in the world over ice (although no ice today!), the view sadly spolit by the safety barrier. Our oTENTik is amazing - a huge wooden and canvas tent in the trees but right by the beach, equipped with gas bbq and electric sockets ☺ we nipped out to visit Charlottetown and the birthplace of Canada, where the confederation was drawn up, before returning with meat and port for a hearty night around the campfire. While the cost of fuel is brilliantly low, the cost of meat, salad and alcohol is laughably high compared to the UK...we ended up buying port as it was cheaper than wine! Campfire planned for later, as well as a walk to the beach.Read more
