Grand Bazaar, Istanbul

Heading towards the Grand Bazaar, we passed the most fabulous little art shop with beautiful pictures from floor to ceiling. I could have bought everything but settled for a small-ish (nearly A4) line drawing of whirling dervishes for 250tl (about £5). The Grand Bazaar was massive and busy but less frenetic than it was made out to be. The different sections were interesting, with the oldest section and its brick roof structure being notably cooler than the rest of the market. We headed home in the early afternoon whilst the heat was still very passable, for a relaxing afternoon on the ship.Les mer
