Gateway Arch - St Louis, MO

Walked from the Old Courthouse to the North entrance of the Arch, boy was it hot, glad to get through security to the air conditioned visitor centre. The Gateway Arch is a 630-foot (192 m) monument. Clad in stainless steel and built in 1965 it is an inverted, weighted catenary arch, it is the world's tallest arch and tallest man-made structure in the Western Hemisphere. A tram takes us to the top, pods of 5 people squashed in and a 4 min ride. Views from the top are breathtaking, the city one side & the Mississippi River and our RV park behind the Casino Queen on the other.Leggi altro
