RMNP - Cub Lake Trail

Late start today as we moved sites to stay here over the Labor Day Weekend and beyond. Funny how things work out, we are walking a low level trail part way to Cub Lake in Moraine Park. Talk about feeling at home the trees remind us of Scots pines. We cross a river and see trout in the water, there are a few folk fly fishing. We walk up through a beautiful meadow and sitting in the grass by a river is the biggest bull moose we've seen, counted 12 points on his antlers. Right place, right time !!! As we walk back he bellows, stands up and starts marking his territory. Lots birds - hawks, woodpeckers, red naped sapsuckers, magpies, swallows to name but a few.Les mer
