    San José de las Montañas

    After Manuel was out of quarantine, he still had a cough, so I decided to get away for the weekend to San José de las Montañas. It was kinda chilly up in the mountains, but it was the first time in 4 weeks that I was able to cook for myself. I’m not complaining, but I do like to eat what I cook. I made Roasted Cauliflower soup and a tomato sauce. It might seem boring to you, but sometimes you just want a little taste of home.

    I spent a full day hiking in the Volcán Barva area out of San José de las Montañas. As it was Saturday, it was a little busy. My Uber to get to the entrance couldn’t make it all the way there - horrible roads - and no cell service for about two miles out of the park for my return trip. All in all, I hikes for 6 glorious solid hours. I saw some fun birds and enjoyed the dense mountain forest. Really it was just time for me to be alone. Something I was also craving.
