• Horrendous Morning!

    21 de junio, Canadá ⋅ ☀️ 16 °C

Last night, the boats were all rocking quite a bit when it was time to turn in and I was starting to get a bit nauseous getting ready for bed. In the end, I was rocked to sleep and slept soundly for the whole night.

It was another gloomy morning when we pulled anchor at 08:00 and set off from the relative calmness of Tribune Bay heading to Gorge Harbour. The seas in the Strait of Georgia were very lumpy, as predicted but from our location it would have taken a long time to backtrack to a quieter route. So out into the Strait we went.

I was on the helm and although I suffer from motion sickness I'm generally okay if I'm driving. Things took a turn when nature called and I was forced to go below and use the head. The next two hours were a nightmare of intense nausea and throwing up and I eventually fell asleep on the salon settee. When I woke up the seas had calmed down and the sun was even shining a bit. Lisa (Scout) also reported having to lie down for the worst of rolling seas.

Thankfully, the rest of the trip was uneventful and we spent a lovely afternoon and evening relaxing at the Gorge Harbour Marina.
